About the Designer: Heidi Riviere
Heidi learned to sew and knit as a little girl growing up in the Virgin Islands. She loved sewing and always used her talents to make gifts for friends and family. For many years she focused her talents on interior design making curtains and slip covers.

However, the sewing and knitting stopped being a priority with her first job as a chemist continuing on through her law school career. It just became easier to buy curtains and clothing.

As an associate at a law firm in New York, she found herself working long hours. Her choice of a conventional professional was challenging but limited in the creative offering.

On her path towards creating her line of accessories, Heidi started once again sewing by making a duvet cover and shams for a friend. One Christmas she decided that instead of giving her sisters and some of her friends store bought gifts she would make them purses instead.

Her first attempts were from the heart and not as fashionable as her clutches are now but they sparked her creative juices.

One day while presenting her "Tasha" purse to a friend at a party, Heidi got many requests about where she purchased the gift. When she replied that she designed and created the purse herself one of the party goers placed an order on the spot. Reacting with extreme surprise and excitement that someone would be interested in buying one of her creations, she set out to fill her first order and sale. And so was the start of Diva Bugs.

For her handmade creations, she uses semi-precious stones, sterling silver and gold, swavorski crystals and czech glass beads. Heidi creates each piece for the Diva in every woman. As Heidi says, "Everyone is a Diva. Diva Bugs help you show that side of yourself on the outside."
